More than 40 acres of gardens are available for exploration at Cranbrook House & Gardens, a centerpiece of Cranbrook’s 319-acre National Historic Landmark campus.  The City is serviced by both the Bloomfield Hills School District and the Birmingham Public School District (primarily in the southeast quadrant of the City), there is also a variety of nearby private and parochial school choices available.

The Bloomfield Hills School District includes one high school (Bloomfield Hills High School), three middle schools (Bloomfield, East Hills, West Hills), four elementary schools (Conant, Eastover, Lone Pine, Way), a preschool (Bloomin’), an alternative high school (Bowers Academy), a virtual program (Bloomfield Virtual), and a multi-district consortium high school (International Academy). The district is also home to a county-wide program serving students with severe multiple impairments (Wing Lake Developmental Center). 

The Birmingham School district includes two high schools (Seaholm and Groves), two middle schools (Berkshire and Derby), eight elementary schools (Beverly, Bingham Farms, Pembroke, Pierce, West Maple, Quarton, and Greenfield), a 3-8 school (Covington), and an alternative high school (Lincoln Street Alternative); there is also an integrated virtual program (Birmingham Virtual Academy). There is also an early childhood development program (Midvale BPS Early Childcare Center).
